RSG-Columbia was founded in 1997 by Tom Haycox. Partnering with a Texas-based group of independent wholesale distributors named Roofing Supply Group, Tom created a unique business model. As part of a consortium of 57 roofing supply affiliates, RSG-Columbia is a leading local supplier for construction projects in the southeast region and we have the distribution reach to provide excellent service to Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and beyond.

Before starting RSG-Columbia, Tom Haycox had 10 years experience as a roofing wholesaler. He understands the industry and outperforms the competition. Locally owned but with affiliates nationwide, RSG fills a big gap in the industry. Until RSG, no wholesale construction supplier could match locally owned, hands-on service with the broad purchasing power of a national chain to provide the best possible pricing. This dual strength business approach enables RSG to enhance service and increase profitability for our customers.

RSG is the first distribution center in Columbia to demonstrate its commitment to our town by investing in it. We’re proud to be part of the midlands and we intend to be a successful part of this community for years to come. At the same time, our success allows us to reach out. We’re serving local contractors and businesses in other areas of South Carolina as we prepare to establish more distribution offices statewide. Our dynamic fleet consists of numerous tractor trailers (each with its own forklift), box trucks, and pick-up trucks and gives us the ability to expedite any size job.
